Last\u00a0fall,\u00a0Cogeco,\u00a0the\u00a0flagship of\u00a0Quebec\u00a0telecommunications,\u00a0moved\u00a0to\u00a01 Place Ville-Marie in\u00a0Montreal, in\u00a0a\u00a0space\u00a0specially\u00a0redesigned\u00a0for the occasion\u00a0and\u00a0taking\u00a0place on the 33rd\u00a0and 34th\u00a0floors\u00a0of\u00a0this\u00a0privileged location.<\/p>\n

The main factor behind\u00a0this\u00a0decision\u00a0was\u00a0to\u00a0fill\u00a0the\u00a0lack\u00a0of\u00a0space\u00a0in\u00a0their\u00a0offices,\u00a0located\u00a0then\u00a0at 5 Place Ville-Marie\u00a0since\u00a02006.\u00a0The new location, totalling over 65,000 square feet therefore meets the demand.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0was\u00a0also\u00a0in 2006\u00a0that\u00a0Groupe Focus and Cogeco became business partners to standardize their workspaces. At the time, most of the existing furniture had been move and completed with new furniture. It became important to renew it all taking into account the new trends in work environments as well as the needs to be met.<\/p>\n

<\/h2>\n

Collaboration\u00a0with\u00a0high<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>caliber\u00a0partners\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Groupe Focus\u00a0<\/span>worked<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>closely<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>JLL and\u00a0<\/span>the team of design and architecture\u00a0<\/span>firm<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Aedifica<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<\/span>execute<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>furniture<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>layout<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and the\u00a0<\/span>specification<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>requests<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>after<\/span>\u00a0a\u00a0<\/span>tender call\u00a0<\/span>period<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>December<\/span>\u00a02019.\u00a0<\/span>A challenge met in 9\u00a0<\/span>months<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>through<\/span>\u00a0an effective\u00a0<\/span>implementation<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>started<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0a first phase of installation\u00a0<\/span>carried<\/span>\u00a0out in May 2020\u00a0<\/span>continued<\/span>\u00a0over a\u00a0<\/span>sustained<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>period<\/span>\u00a0of 8\u00a0<\/span>weeks<\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span>finalized<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>September<\/span>\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/span>same<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>year<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A work environment beautifully imagined by the Aedifica team, modern and bright, now accomodates more than 400 employees, who now enjoy 25 closed offices, 363 open space offices, 26 meeting rooms and 5 bistro-style areas.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>choice<\/span>\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>furniture<\/span>\u00a0has\u00a0<\/span>therefore<\/span>\u00a0been\u00a0<\/span>oriented<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>so<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>that<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>environment<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0not\u00a0<\/span>static<\/span>\u00a0and can\u00a0<\/span>evolve<\/span>\u00a0over time. For<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>this<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>reason<\/span>, the\u00a0CityLine\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>Teknion<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(<\/span>low<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>fence<\/span>)\u00a0<\/span>was<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>selected<\/span>\u00a0for open\u00a0<\/span>spaces<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>combined<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0ajustable tables and\u00a0<\/span>fabric<\/span>\u00a0screens<\/span>\u00a0on the front and\u00a0<\/span>between<\/span>\u00a0stations.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The CityLine collection creates workstations, collaboration spaces and multiple configurations that are highly flexible for users.<\/p>\n

The bistro areas are equipped with Pedrali Modus benches up to the ceiling, bistro tables from The Zones collection by Teknion and Bakhita chairs from Global.<\/p>\n

The Hispace and Expansion Casegoods collections enhance the closed offices to embellish the spaces. As for the boardroom, it is provided with the majestic table from the Teknion series C+D, the first order of this kind for Groupe Focus in Quebec.<\/p>\n

This project also includes a dozen Teknion Tekbooth telephone booth, fitted with Bakhita stools from Global, allowing employees to make their calls in complete confidentiality.<\/p>\n

On the collaborative spaces side, the choice was oriented on Studio TK\u2019s electrified Bevy tables, chosen for their functionality and versatility, as well as the Community tables by Prismatique with Beso stools from Studio TK.\u00a0 The Juxta armchairs, combined with the Laptop Talk tables by Keilhauer are the perfect complement to these multifunctional layouts.<\/p>\n
